The 2026 Great Lakes Manōmaeh (Wild Rice) Gathering is a two-day event that will provide an opportunity for participants to gather, share, and learn about wild rice (Manōmaeh/Manoomin/Mnomen/Mnomin/Mayom/Psíŋ/wąąkšik sįį) protection, restoration, and stewardship across the region.

Location: Menominee Casino Resort, Keshena, WI

Workshop Objectives:
- Cultural exchange and learning focused on Manōmaeh / Manoomin rights, relationships, and responsibilities
- Share lessons learned and support advancement of Manōmaeh / Manoomin protection, stewardship, and restoration efforts and associated coalition-building
- Explore the connection between Manōmaeh / Manoomin, food sovereignty, and workforce development
- Knowledge sharing related to tribally-led geospatial monitoring and analysis in support of Manōmaeh / Manoomin resilience
- Continue refining Manōmaeh / Manoomin resilience indicators to help guide coordinated information / data collection for assessments
- Intergenerational dialogue and knowledge sharing across different learning systems
- Identify champions for future Manōmaeh / Manoomin work and gatherings
